The Department of Mathematics calls for applications for two Ph.D.
scholarships (based on research grants) of which one is in the Fourier analysis area in conjunction with Clifford and hyper-complex analysis, aiming at the inter-relationships, especially boundary value problems, Hardy spaces and singular integral operators. The second area is signal analysis, with emphasis in relation to analytic signals and adaptive decomposition of signals. The study of the second area is based on Fourier and complex
The scholarships both for 13500 MOP (1 MOP =0.98 HKD at the moment) per month covering living expenses and tuition fee for Ph.D. (3500 MOP for each month). The applicant should possess a Master’s degree in mathematics (or will be completed before July 2007) with demonstrative study records. Candidates with excellent background knowledge in various branches of analysis will be in particularly sought.
